Yes its in the Alien U'vers, and shows, but without explanation the inception of the Aliens... Thats kinda how the whole movie is framed. It showed you some cool concepts, but they are somewhat vague... There are no detailed explanations of the plot.

They are not on LV426, thats for another movie I guess..
