Halloween see's the start of The Walking Dead series on AMC, everything I've read is good about it..



Also just came across the other show today, Dead Set, had never heard about it before, but it looks like it got positive reviews...

British 5 part mini-series from 2008, setting: Zombie outbreak during the filming of Big Brother, they even copied the real British BB house....
