Can anyone tell me if this TV is decent?

I found (what seems to be) an amazing deal on slickdeals.net today on this TV. It's $500 with free shipping and no tax for me. A lot of reviews I've read complain about speakers but I can get a surround system for that. I'm not a TV freak, I don't need top of the line. Just would like to know if this one will be decent.

Looks like a decent deal. Some bad reviews on sound and picture issues but for $500 you probably can't lose.
