This game looks kinda shitty but I am drawn to it for some reason. I like the look of the space battles but the on planet stuff is horrible looking.

Finish Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 IMO...Then Dragon's Age if you still have some Bioware gaming left in you...

Finished DA and playing through ME 1 now...still excellent even if the socials are so much better in Dragon Age.

Why is this in the FPS forum? ;):p

I know one person bought it and is already bored, the ground based stuff is pretty bad, and the space stuff is only adequate..

I was about to buy the game, but thankfully the Game Stop had just closed. I really suggest looking around and checking out reviews of the game before you waste $65.

Just like jomama said, ground combat is pretty much shoot blaster, shoot blaster, shoot blaster. Space combat doesn't look much different than Eve, but its part of the game that interests me the most.

Space in STO isn't in 3 Dimensions. You're severly limited in the angles you can fly, only able to angle about 45 degs up or down.

Wowfony is a guy that recently got sponsorship for vide game reviews. He started doing his own with Aion and got some attention. His reviews are hilarious and entertaining. But he recently did a part one review of Star Trek and its the best I've seen so far that didn't plainly say "this game is horrible".

His other reviews are worth watching too, just because they're so entertaining.

If you are a hardcore trekkie, you will like the lore of the game. If you want a space game, Eve online puts the rest of the space sim/mmorpg's to shame. STO is a more hand held, friendly game than Eve. There is a story line and of course the Star Trek lore.

If there was ever a possibility of a geek supernova wiping out all existence it is now in bringing star trek into MMORPG arena...
