I took May 19th off and want to know if anyone else is crazy enough to go see it at midnight (on the 18th) with me. Posted by Chadwick (Member # 45) on :
I'm up for it.
Posted by Ender (Member # 55) on :
count me in.

This guy was interviewed on some show yesterday on XM.
47 min short film made for 20K. I think its set between eps. I and II. Supposidly pretty elaborate for a free fan film.
Klauso, can I convince you to dwnload the Image and burn a DVD for me?
It actually looks like it's set between Episodes III and IV...
Not bad actually.
Horrifying character choice, and acting but hey, they probably did it for free. The effect are pretty damn good! Cool space battle!
I just couldn't stop laughing: "So, we've got a couple fat ugly chicks who are Jedi, a fat ugly dude who's a bounty hunter and another fat dude who's another Jedi..."
For the price, it's worth downloading the 250 MB file and giving it your 40 minutes.

Where do you guys want to see it?
If you're willing to drive, the Chaska theatre is brand new, stadium seating, great sound, and will be relatively empty. If they're doing a midnight show, that's where I'd be interested in going...
But Rosemount is usually pretty empty too...
Let me know what you guys think.
Posted by Klaus (Member # 66) on :
I am downloading it now. I will watch it on the PSP this weekend.
I can make a DVD for you Joe. This is to play in your regular DVD player, right?
Posted by Ender (Member # 55) on :
Doesnt matter to me where, but you should probibly get tickets this weekend sometime even if you think the theatre will be empty because im not so sure it will be.

Yes, much appreciated.
Posted by Ender (Member # 55) on :
A friend of mine manages the Woodbury 10 theatre and is seeing it on Tuesday at midnight. It would be pretty much employees only so the theatre would be much more empty, and it would be free. He said i could bring whoever if you guys want to go tuesday instead of wednesday.
Let me know if this works out for you.
Posted by Klaus (Member # 66) on :
I might do a Tuesday midnight if it's free and there is no BS waiting in line etc. CONFIRM there will be zero issues with getting in etc. I assume there will be no previews if the manager is running it?
Posted by Chadwick (Member # 45) on :
I'm up for that. As to you idea Eric, I think for a midnight showing chanhassen is a bit too far.
Posted by BoondockSaint (Member # 67) on :
I'm there, just so long as we can all get in.

Sorry to make you be the one to drive across town....I just cant do it though.
Posted by BoondockSaint (Member # 67) on :
No problem.
There's a function at work Thursday AM that I need to attend so this will be perfect.
I'll take Wednesday off rather than Thursday.
Luke, can you confirum that this will work?
Posted by Ender (Member # 55) on :
Yes, it wont be a problem. I get into free movies there all the time, which Hauser can vouch for since he sees alot of them with me. I will call Zach, my friend that works there, today to let him know we are coming and get the exact time he will be showing it. Not sure about previews, but ill ask him and get back to you.
Directions to Woodbury 10 Theatre: Take 494 East past HYW 61 then north to Vally Creek Rd. Exit on Vally Creek and take a right. Take a left at the 3rd stop light (you will see a Ciatti's restaurant on the corner). Go straight at the stop sign past Target and the theatre will be on your left.

There is an applebee's somewhere around that area where we could meet up.
Posted by BoondockSaint (Member # 67) on :
What time?
Posted by BoondockSaint (Member # 67) on :
Hey Ender, Tiff is coming too. Just in case you need to give your buddy a head count.
Posted by Hauserdaddy (Member # 50) on :
What time are we meeting for beers at Applebees? Luke, give us the lowdown....
Posted by Klaus (Member # 66) on :
Michelle hasn't decided if she is coming yet. We are going to the Twins game - then I am probably going to meet you guys in Woodbury.
Posted by Ender (Member # 55) on :
Lets say 10pm at Applebee's in Woodbury. I think it is off Valley Creek also. If not, then its nearby there very close.

Applebees is right there in the valley creek mall thing. Take a right onto Valley creek from 494 and you will see it on your left in between the 2nd and 3rd light. Cya at 10PM Posted by Ender (Member # 55) on :
Ok guys, we have a slight problem. I was finally able to get ahold of Zach, my friend who works there. He talked to the owner who said he doesnt want a whole bunch of people showing up because he is worried about an inspector or something to show up and cite his theatre for showing the movie early to lots of non-employees. Whatever....
Also, Zach is already bringing his dad and one of his dad's friends (i didnt know this).
So, he told me i could only bring like 2 other people. I really thought the number of people wouldnt be a problem because i know him and the other managers there and they dont give a shit about friends of employees seeing free movies all the time.
Anyways.... i guess i fucked up by assuming i could bring whoever. So, you might want to plan on seeing it tommarrow instead. I know Eric took work off, and i already talked to him on the phone. If need be, i will take him and Tiff both just because i dont want to cause any work trouble for him.
Sorry guys. Its a no go for sure. Lets plan on tommarrow.
Posted by Klaus (Member # 66) on :
No problem here - take Eric and Tiff.
I knew something like this was too good to be true...
A day early - free - no line - bring all your friends - etc. Yeah too good to be true.
I will go see it this weekend or when I return from the cabin.
Posted by BoondockSaint (Member # 67) on :
Tiff said it's no problem if you want to take someone else.
I can take her this weekend...I have a feeling I'll want to see it again anyway.
Posted by Chadwick (Member # 45) on :
I kinda saw this coming as well and wasn't banking on it. I was also in the too-good-to-be-true for however many crowd.
No Problem.
I think I might actually wait until Friday or Saturday So I can see it with Kelly.
I didn't make any work accomidations as I typically work 9-6 anyway. So those who make work changes should go in lieu of me....Eric, Hauser etc....

Wow.
All I can say is that it was worth it.
It was worth Jar Jar Binks. It was worth Hayden Christensen's horrible acting in Episode II. It was worth the horrible dialogue and cheesy kid cast for Anakin in Episode I. It was worth all of those frustrating annoyances to see a finale like this.
Yes you can nit-pick a couple moments in this one, but the good surpasses the bad hands down.
Finally, they nailed it.
5 out of 5.
Finally.
I predict this one will do over $100 million this weekend alone...
I'm going to sleep now. Posted by Hauserdaddy (Member # 50) on :
LOL I got home at 3:30 and am at work now No rest for the wicked I guess....
Posted by Chadwick (Member # 45) on :
Fucker!
Now I may have to go see it tonight!!
(Indifferently waiting for Ender's off-the-scale review)
Posted by Jomama (Member # 56) on :
I'm sure its good... but Boons reviews are forever tainted for me due to his love for his namesake film...
(gay movie )
Posted by Hauserdaddy (Member # 50) on :
I think it is hard for a movie to live up to the hype when you already know what the storyline is. This movie does about the best job you can do in this situation. The only real letdown is that the saga is over (for now) We have been following these characters and story for 25 years Posted by BoondockSaint (Member # 67) on :

You bastard. You just love to don't you. Posted by Ender (Member # 55) on :
It lived up to everything i hoped for, thats for sure. There were still a few really cheezy parts where i just had to roll my eyes at Lucas' lack of directing talent (especially in the beginnning), but the story really cant be screwed up too much by that.
The Emperor made the movie. Awesome job of acting by that guy. Hayden was..... better, which isnt saying much.
But, i enjoyed it over all.
5 out of 5
Posted by Chadwick (Member # 45) on :
I'm going to see it all by my lonesome 6:15 at rosemount.... hopefully the lines will be reasonable.
Posted by Crack_Dealer (Member # 68) on :
Are you going to dress up as Boba Fett?
Posted by Chadwick (Member # 45) on :
Nah, I skipped the outfit.
Well it was worth the wait. It did not dissapoint but I was not expecting perfection. They got this one right but not perfect.
Hayden's dry, two dimensional, acting was still distracting but better. They did the saga justice. It was pleasantly dark and tragic.
It still suffered from a lack of character chemistry. I still didn't belive that padme and anakin would be in love. Those two just have no on screen chemistry at all.
Though better the directing & dialouge still suffer but the actors, effects, action, story, & feal of the film help to dilute the effects of lucas' B movie dirrecting talant.
It is nearly as good as empire.
4.5/5
I am still overall dissapointed with the first three. If lucas would have gotten more help from good writers and directors these movies could have been spectacular. They had more potential simply from the univers and the storyline than lord of the rings but do not hold a candle to them in quality of dialoge and dirrecting thus overall are inferior films.

Sith' scores $50 million on first day in theaters (NWS) By Russ Britt LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" scored $50 million in first-day receipts at 3,661 theaters across the nation on Thursday, box-office tracker Exhibitor Relations said Friday. Went and saw it a second time today, and actually liked it alot better that time. Probibly because i didnt have any pre-conceptions about what i thought the movie should be like that time.
They did a really great job.

Saw it today. Great movie - very dark.
