I'm still not very keen on the auction idea. Over half of our owners are 1st or 2nd year fantasy players and won't understand the intricacies that are required to do well in an auction draft. Which is why I suppose the more experienced owners want to go the auction route.

Ok, so I consider myself an "experienced" fantasy football player, playing for the past 7 or 8 years (never won, but that's besides the point). I am all for the serpentine draft, ESPECIALLY since they are so many "newbies" drafting.
An auction would take FOREVER to get thru. As it is a serpentine already takes about 3-4 hours to get thru. Plus there would be a lot of confusion going on since no one would really know what they're doing.
An auction would require that EVERYONE be there, it would be difficult to draft for someone that isn't able to make it.
I have never done an auction draft, but have heard that it is very tedious and is for the more "serious" fantasy football players, those who have way too much time on their hands to anaylze etc (even more time on their hands than Brad does!).
Fantasy Football aside: Go Vikes!!

I can go either way but the Serp. is easier I agree. What I saw happen at the auction I was in was that the rookies paid way too much for their favorite player and have no cash left for anything else. It is very slanted towards the more advanced drafter.

I can go either way but as you know I am in favor of the auction. I really like the idea that everyone has equal opportunity to have any player they want. If it took you guys 3 to 4 hours to do a serpentine draft then I really dont think an auction would take any longer. The first 20 to 30 players will take a few hours but after that it's just 1 dollar players and will go really fast. I am also in favor of a 50%/50% league will points for both yards and touchdowns (not sure what you did last year) Just my 2cents worth. Like I said, I would be more than happy to do serpentine as I am in a few other leagues and one for sure will do an auction.
