Are you guys running a league again this year? I would be interested if you need another player.

Next time you are at Shinders getting some magic cards pick up a few of the Fantasy Football magazines. They go through who to pick and in what order.
The first year I played I had no idea what I was doing but got 3rd place in a 20 person league using a cheat sheet in the draft (from a magazine). It's really easy actually.

Where are we at with this?? I really want to be in a second league this year. I would be willing to host it at my house or whatever... In my other league we are doing an auction this year and it seems like the only way to go..

I plan on running the league again. The draft can be hosted anywhere. I'm not to keen on auctions, but if that is the consensus I will go along with it.

That's where you went wrong, see the SATANIC bible calls auctions the "next best thing to anal sex with a goat".
All joking aside, the auction is more fun than any other draft. Especially with a few drinks, it's more fun than winning the entire season. Honestly.

I don't care if we do an auction or draft. Most of us have played FF for a long time so the experience thing shouldn't be an issue.

Unfortuanately, our FF league dissolved as several of my friends went through divorce and a couple got married. It's a shame, because I loved that league and it's scoring system (which we had tweaked over 10+ years of playing). I've been pushing to get it started again, but no one wants to run it... We switched to the auction for the last two years it ran and it is unbelievably fun. I wasn't kidding when I said I enjoyed draft day more than the season. If you boys go with a decent (IMO) scoring system and do an auction I would love to join in as my work FF league has a shit scoring system and interest seems to be low this year.

We can alter our scoring system based on what we decide and still use the online league home to keep track of all of the stats.

I am up for whatever as far as draft day goes. But i prefer a scoring system somewhere inbetween straigt scoring and total performance leauge. The only thing I didnt like about last years leauge was that derick mason got 99 and 98 yards reciving like 6 TIMES and instead of 3 (for 100 yards reciving) points i got no points in yardage. We need to fix that kind of stuff IMHO. But i am up for anything...

Also, you guys should really look into the auction. Really is the ONLY way to go! Gives eveyone equal opportunity at each player. The best part is we could use poker chips and run it like a card game! Now, if that doesnt get you guys, nothing will Posts: 486 | From: Eagan, MN | Registered: Oct 2000

Oh, and before I forget. When you guys pick a date for the draft let me know ASAP for work. I am starting a new job on August 8. My schedule will be much more flexible but I will be back on 8 hour shifts. I'm gonna be a plain clothes narc/vise dude.

I can get the projector and we can do it in my living room again.
Auction/draft I don't care which one we do. Auction is probably the most fair. I hate how the first to pick in a draft is random and gets the best player.
So you took the Narc job Mike...... 8 hour days yuck - hope you can get used to that again Posts: 5484 | From: St. Paul, Mn | Registered: Apr 2002

Are you going to get fat like Ray Liotta did in that NARC movie? Is this a promotion or a lateral move?

Lateral. But it will be totally different and I'm really ready for a change. Most of my new job will consist of working snitches and writing search warrants for houses and cars ect... I hear ya Scott. I didn't forget how much 8 hour days sucked from before. There is one key difference in this job though. There are no minimums meaning I can have any days off that I want. The start times are totally flex. That means I can start at 2pm, 4pm, or even work 10p-6a. I can do whatever I want on a day to day basis. I could also work days from time to time. Just need to be mostly nights.

I'm already fat! I'm actually hoping that I can get back into a routine workout schedule now that I will be on 8 hour days. One consequence of 10hr is that you are completely tired the next day and really dont feel like doing to much.

You should never divulge such information no matter how obvious it seems , cause there always seems to be one guy at the draft with an old cheat sheet and absolutely no preparation who deserves to make such a foolish mistake...

Due to the National Fantasy Football Leagues policy on substance abuse, Brad will not be able to participate for four weeks. And he is considering retiring...

I was attempting to become a part of the witness protection plan. But thanks to all you guys, I have been found out.
Anyways, I am taking suggestions on any major rule changes (mainly scoring). Let me know and then I will post a poll and we will go with the majority.
I will get everything set up this week.
